How To Search

To start your search click on the 'Budget' button and select the way you want to fund your car.

The options are to pay cash, lease it or finance it.

The reason we separate 'lease it' and 'finance it' is because;

• with leasing you don't ever own the car
• if you finance the car you can choose to own the car at the end of the finance term.

Pay Cash

If you want to pay cash you can then select the minimum and maximum 'On-The-Road' price (e.g. list price plus delivery charges, registration fee and tax disc) of the car you want to buy.

The 'Search' button will then appear - click on this to see the results of the search.

Lease it

If you select 'Lease it' we will ask whether you ar a business of personal customer.

The 'Search' button will then appear - click on this to see the results of the search.

After you click on the button you'll then be asked a series of questions about what you want to search for.

You don't need to make all of the selections - once the 'Search' button has appeared you can just use the information you have already selected.

'Budget' Search

Once you click on the 'Budget' button you'll be asked to choose your funding method for the car.

You can choose to pay cash, lease it or finance it.

Pay Cash

If you opt to pay cash we will search by your selections for the 'On-The-Road' purchase price (e.g. list price plus delivery charges, registration fee and tax disc) of the car.

You can select a minimum and a maximum 'On-The-Road' price, then search for matching cars.

Lease it

If you are leasing a car (e.g. where the car is owned by the leasing company and returned to them at the end of the lease contract) we will search by your selections for the monthly lease rental of the vehicle.

You can select whether you are a business customer (businesses can recover some/all of the Value Added Tax on the lease rental, dependng on the use of the vehicle) or a personal customer.

Busines Customers
If you are a business customer we'll calculate the monthly payment according to;

• your choice of contract;
• the period for the contract (e.g. 12/24/36/48/60 months);
• the number of advance payments (the deposit) you want to make;
• the total miles for the contract (NOT THE ANNUAL MILES);
• your monthly budget (e.g. payment) for the contract; and
• we'll adjust the monthly payment according to whether you want to include or exclude recoverable VAT.

Personal Customers
If you are a personal customer we'll calculate the monthly payment according to;

• the period for the contract (e.g. 12/24/36/48/60 months);
• the number of advance payments (the deposit) you want to make;
• the total miles for the contract (NOT THE ANNUAL MILES).

'Equipment' Search

For the 'Equipment' search you can choose the standard equipment and features your car must have, such as air conditioning, satellite navigation and heated driver's seat.

Features are grouped together under categories such as 'Comfort', 'Safety', 'Entertainment' etc.

Click on a category button to see all the equipment or features included in the category.

To select an item from the category check the selection boxes beside each item you want in your car, then click on the 'Search' button to get your search underway.

'Body/Make' Search

Here we'll search according to the body style of the vehicle (e.g. hatchback, saloon, etc).

We'll then ask you about;

• the fuel type (petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric, etc);
• the type of gearbox (manual or automatic);
• the number of seats;
• the manufacturer and any specific model.

'Eco' Search

We've divided the search criteria for an 'Eco' search between internal combustion engines ('ICE') and hybrids/electric cars.

For ICE engined cars we'll then ask you about;

• CO2 output (in grammes per kilometre) - you can choose the minimum and maximum;
• RDE2 compliant diesels*;
• fuel consumption (choose the WLTPWLTP rated minimum mileage);

*All new cars are now RDE compliant, so you dont need to check this item. It's there to allow us at a later date to show cars which are not new.

'Performance' Search

Our 'Performance' search allows you to find vehicles by;

• brake horse power ('BHP');
• acceleration from 0-62mph (equal to 0-100kph);
• maximum speed in 'mph'.

You can see more performance related data when you select any of the first three items then click the Search' button.

When the search results appear you can click on the 'Performance' data button to see more performance data such as engine torque and torque by engine revolutions plus, for internal combustion engines;

• the number of cylinders in the engine;
• camshaft layout;
• engine layout;
• number of valves;
• fuel delivery mechanism.

Search Tips

Remember that if you just make a few choices you may get so many cars matching your selections that the vehicle list is too long and isn't helpful.

We recommend that you at least select factors such as price or monthly payment and body style to narrow down results to a manageable number.

Once the search results appear you can change/refine your settings and search again, particularly if a lot of cars meet your initial search requirements.

Instant Search Updates

The most effective way of searching is to set all your car requirements at once and then click on the 'Search' button, but you can also see the impact of changing individual search criteria.

To do this click on 'Settings' and in the 'Update Options' section choose 'Instant Search Update'. This will update searches every time you change each individual selection.

Keep in mind though that turning on the instant update feature will usually increase the amount of time it takes to get to the end of your search. This is because as every change is made you re-run the search.
