How To Search

Our Search Engine can sift through over 7000 new car models to help you get to the right car for your needs.

You can search for a new car by criteria such as:

• Monthly finance payment or On-The-Road Price
• Body style, fuel type and gearbox
• Make and model
• Environmental impact
• Power and performance
• Standard equipment and features

Getting Started

You can start your search by clicking on any of the selection buttons on the screen.

After you click on the button you'll then be asked a series of questions about what you want to search for.

'Budget', 'Body/Make', 'Eco' and 'Performance' Searches

Once you click on the button you'll be asked:

• Budget: Select how you will finance your car, e.g. pay cash, lease it or get finance. You can then choose how much you want to pay for your car (e.g. cash price or monthly finance).
• Body/Make: You can pick the body style (e.g. saloon, estate, convertible, etc), plus fuel type, gearbox, seats, manufacturer and model range.
• Eco: This covers environmental factors such as emissions, RDE2 status (diesels) and fuel consumption (MPG) for ICE vehicles and battery range and recharge time for electric vehicles.
• Performance: You can look for cars matching your requirements for engine power (BHP), top speed and acceleration.

As you make your selections other options will appear. Once you have made enough selections to make the search possible the 'Search' button will appear.

You can click on the button at any time from then on to get your search underway.

For example, to search by 'Body/Make' you can just select the body style and fuel type then search for vehicles.

'Features' Search

For the 'Features' search you can choose the standard equipment and features your car must have, such as air conditioning, satellite navigation and heated driver's seat.

Features are grouped together under categories such as 'Comfort', 'Safety', 'Entertainment' etc.

Within in each category, check the selection boxes beside each item you want in your car then click on the 'Search' button to get your search underway.

Search Tips

Remember that if you just make a few choices you may get so many cars matching your selections that the vehicle list is too long and isn't helpful.

We recommend that you at least select factors such as price or monthly payment and body style to narrow down results to a manageable number.

Once the search results appear you can change/refine your settings and search again, particularly if a lot of cars meet your initial search requirements.

Car Data

You can view a wide range of data about the cars in your search results by clicking on the display category buttons. These include:

• Body: For example, body style, number of doors, fuel type and gearbox.
• Economy: Including fuel consumption results from official tests.
• Emissions: Such as CO2, hydrocarbons and NOx output rates.
• Performance: Including top speed, 0-62mph time, engine power (BHP) and engine configuration.
• Battery: For electric or hybrid cars you can see the type of battery fitted, recharge cable connector type, battery warranty, range and recharge times.

Instant Search Updates

The most effective way of searching is to set all your car requirements at once and then click on the 'Search' button, but you can also see the impact of changing individual search criteria.

To do this click on 'Settings' and in the 'Update Options' section choose 'Instant Search Update'. This will update searches every time you change each individual selection.

Keep in mind though that turning on the instant update feature will usually increase the amount of time it takes to get to the end of your search. This is because as every change is made you re-run the search.
